Every opening day it happens, any league established or new.
I wish I could go back to the patch prior now this is really annoying

Disable Ghost players option, I had a playoff game one year(wasn't aware of Ghost players) and Jim Unknown got the winning hit. Imagine playing an entire season and then having great playoff series and a great World Series ruined by Jim Unknown playing in the game.

Hmmm so was this mistakenly left on in the last patch as a default? I never mess with it and necver have ghosts, just noticed in this new league it was checked....
Now to find them all and delete them since they have been picked up and developing on random clubs... lol Ugh

On the Major League level? I didn't think the game would use a ghost player unless you don't have enough "real" players to fill the roster. At least I've never seen it and I do use ghost players to make minor leagues less micro managing, easier to see my real prospects, and also keeps the save file size down a bit (at least I would think it does). I've never had Joe Unkown appear in the MLB level in my game in any version of OOTP.
Am I wrong? Do you guys not have enough players to fill out your MLB(or top league whatever it's called) rosters when injuries occur? |

Yeha yeah so my deal was that I was fine, as usual - few guys in each of the levels of the minors, plenty in MLB - got through Sprint Training - about 2-3 days after opening day magically Jim Unknown either filled up AAA in one league I had or AA in another I had (all post last patch) with it my Internal Complex disappeared also in each league... Very strange - the other minor clubs still had only 1-2 guys in them and were unaffected... never saw this before in 12-13 versions of ootp. I gotta think its a patch issue

I don't always monitor the forums, so it would be helpful if you could open up a support ticket (see my sig) and I'll try to help you there.

I just started getting this Jim Unknown mess in two of my leagues. One was a new league. Another post mentioned simming to the next day so operations in the background can complete. That seems to work. I simmed one day and all the Jim Unknowns disappeared.

I thought the purpose of ghost players were that they were "ghosts". As in like invisible. Not to be seen. Just to play behind the scenes...
I haven't had one make it to the majors but I see a ton of them in the minors. Quite irritating...

All you of are haters, Jane Unknown can tell you that Jim is a good guy, hard working, great asset to any team. He's also good father and husband. And he invented cloning and cloned himself many times

So nobody really cares that the game creates these players when ghost players are on and no fictional created players should be generated?

I think there must have been a positive fix in a recent patch here - I still see them fill a minor league club from time to time but they do disappear after 1-2 days of simming.
