Prospects and the minor league bench
Question. I've noticed that the AI teams often have their best minor-league prospects sitting on the bench, especially in Rookie League, behind players with no real potential at all. In real life that would be very bad, but in OOTP, does it have any effect? I'm hoping it doesn't, and that their prospects will grow just fine, but I have no idea.

That's what I was afraid of. Is there any way to prevent it? Again, I'm talking about the teams I don't run. I want well-run opposition.

I don't know if it will reset itself after you leave commissioner mode however. Keep in mind, if you are playing with scouting, it is possible that the AI teams are not valueing those "top prospects" the same way your scout is valueing them based on many different factors, and in their eyes they are not Top Talent. I've also found that unless the players are absolute studs, in which they wouldn't even start out in the Rookie League, sitting for the first year or so is okay as they get a feel for the professional game, and let some of the older guys try and advance to the next level.

There's a "start based on potential" vs "start based on current ability" setting in the strategy tab for every minor league.

Lafayette: Excellent! I will tamper with that at once.

SirMichael: No, I didn't. But it doesn't matter, because now there's a solution. Much appreciated.
