Win, Lose or Draw? Your call...

I have played OOTP a lot over the years, over 39,000 games but who is counting (I am) This is the first time I saw this. And I am still not sure what the outcome is... Win, Lose or Draw?

You can see from the first attachment that on August 9th, I lost a close game to the Charlotte Generals by the score, 6 to 6.

The second attachment shows that my pitcher of that game, Q Cocho got the win in that same game.

And the game was postponed in the third attachment.

So what was it... Win, lose or draw???

Looks like you had a DH where the first game was a loss.

The first attachment would agree with you sort of. There was a DH and I did lose the second game (that is for sure). The second attachment indicates a win for my pitcher and a lose for theres and the third was a postposed game.

My guess

The game was called during the 6th inning, so any scoring that is done then is not be counted in the "Win-Loss" decision for the pitcher. Since you were ahead after 5 it gives him the win? Any of the stats after the 5th inning shouldn't count then though. Of course, from the schedule it looks like the game was cancelled entirely.

Do the pitchers in question also have the win and loss as part of the actual record? Or is it only showing up in the box score (i.e if you look at the actual player is his record still 9-3 or is it now 10-3)

still confused

Very interesting... That is a good point bwhenry... I took a look at the history of the starting pitcher... My pitcher did get credit for the win. It was his 10th. But look at his records... On 8/9 he got the lose.

His record going into the game was 9-3.

I read through this a couple of times, and I didn't see anyone else mention it, so: there was a doubleheader on August 9th. The first game was postponed (apparently in the 6th inning, with a tied score). The second game was a loss.
I'm assuming that you've simmed ahead to the end of the season? It looks to me as though Cocho ended up finishing that game later on and got the win.

OK... Let me go back and set the stage.

August 9th, I have a DH scheduled. The first game ends in a tie after 6 innings.

The game is shown as a 6-6 loss, but my pitcher in the box score, has the game recorded as a win. His record was 9-3 before the game, and is now 10-3. When I look at his profile and see the last 6 outings. The game is recorded as a loss for him. As I look at my team record, I see that my team has been credited as a win.

It just seems like OOTP did not know how to handle a game with this type of outcome...

Weird. i just hope it does not happen again the last game of a 7 game championship series.
