Position Fielders/Batters/Runners

I am sorry if this has been asked, but i need some help.

On older versions of the game you could drag and drop the players on the screen during the game. Now I cannot.

Am i missing something?

You have to right click on the player to move him. And it's going to take more than 1 try.

WHAT THE HELL?!?!

So i select the left fielder, I right click on him, drag him EVER so slightly, and he vanishes.

Repeat that for the other 2 outfielders and the right handed batter.

Do I have to have a specific screen resolution?
Is it because I have a Mac?
Or is this REALLY broken

I'm guessing that it's really broken.

To be honest with you, I had no idea that this was actually a feature of the game. I've never tried it. It's just that you posted a second time saying "anyone?" that prompted me to reply.

Tashtego's comment that "it's going to take more than 1 try." seems to indicate that this is a known problem. Not that it being known is a guarantee that it'll be fixed... priorities differ, you know? Still hopefully if it's known about already then it'll be fixed eventually.

The problem that i have now is when I go back into Broadcast mode, the 4 positions are STILL missing.

This is the first time that i have had REAL ISSUE with this game, thru all 16 versions of it.

Your missing fielders are probably behind something. Move some stuff around and you will find them.

Just vanished.

For the first time in 16 versions, I am not happy with the game.

Once again, I move a fielder and he just vanishes. He is not behind another screen.

This game, in a word, stinks.

Is this the newest patch? Gotta admit, while its a little more sensitive than it used to be moving players around, I've never seen your issue, so I wonder if it was them trying to fix the complaint others have had previously to where they had a difficult time moving fielders on screen.

This has been going on for all of the OOTP16 versions.

Really let down.

are you in windowed mode or fullscreen? i don't have that problem in windowed mode. a cursor can be different in fullscreen. also, maybe look through the game settings (on first screen, before you load a game) and see if there is something like 'use hardware cursor.'

the only problems i have is that sometimes, if i don't click on the center of the name and i drag it, the player is placed in the wrong slot. the name drages but you can't see the arrow or whatever, and it's based on the pointer's location, not the visible name.

I see you are on a Mac, so I wouldn't experience the same problems.

And fwiw I only play full screen and don't have the issue either.

Tried both windowed and full screen.

Still issues.

Try positioning them by coordinates in the Edit Ballpark screen (you'll have to be in Commish mode to access it). It's not as convenient, but it's better than not seeing them.

well after the last comment, i think it's clear i am misunderstanding the problem.

i thought this was about the substitions screen not the names on the field. sorry about that.

if it's your home park that has the problem, when you fix the problem to your liking, backup/export the associated park. this way if it happens on accident again, you can just pop those files back into the park directory or import it and it's a quick fix. move those files from the import/export <game>.lg directory to somewhere safe.
