Expansion League - Rule 5 Draft
So I've been setting up an expansion league after simming the entire 2015 season. (this way I can be in on following years free agents.)
The way it's been going is I have my expansion draft, get my players and then 2 days later is the Rule 5 draft...and I lose about 5 or 6 of my best players I got 2 days earlier in my expansion draft. Before the update I feel they used to be on the same day, so I could do Rule 5 and then Expansion. Any help would be great. |

Why not just place the recently acquired players through expansion draft on your active roster so that they are not eligible to be drafted (stolen) from you?
Ps, where did you put team? |

I tried this, but since everyone you pick from Rule 5 has to be on your active roster and not in the minors, it makes it a bit difficult. I like to have the ability to demote players if i want.
Portland Seals, using the old San Francisco Seals logo. |

The Rule 5 is specifically structured to prevent players from getting stuck in minors. In order to do so, players drafted in Rule 5 must stay on active roster. I'm not judging, but if I understand what you are trying to do; you are exploiting the Rule 5. Your intentions fly against the purpose of the Rule 5 draft

I understand why there is a Rule 5 draft, but when you start and expansion team from scratch, go through the expansion draft and then lose your best 10 players through Rule 5, that doesn't seem quite fair. It would make sense to have the Rule 5 draft first, followed by the Expansion Draft.
