Guys who create logos - how to "cut out" the logo?
I've used PhotoShop before and know how to do it with that program, but I don't have it currently loaded on my machine. I'm using Paint.net at the moment, but I can't make the background go away on created logos. So all my logos have a square block of white behind them. Can Paint.net handle this or do I need to switch programs?

Use the magic wand tool (and set the tolerance to ~30%) in paint.NET to remove the white. The background should look like the gray-and-white checkerboard. Then make sure to save it as a .png file, not .jpg.

select the area and crop - that will lop off whatever you do not select. paint can do this no problem.
it may have that border to match reso defined for them in the game. it may distort or stretch after your crop it, if it is not the same relative dimension. i've never done anything with logos and this game, so you may need a little trial and error, or it might work the first time. |

Here's a second for paint.net - it's free and does almost everything.

You can also import an image in Powerpoint/Word and theres an option to remove the background.

Well you shouldn't...once you select the area you want to remove with the magice wand, hold down shift+delete keys to remove it and save it as a png.
If you have paint.net 4.x...once you select an area with the magic wand, you can slide the Tolerance bar to increase or decrease the area you want to select..a nice added feature that previous versions didn't have. |

Did you hit Delete after you selected it?
