So, silly question I should know the answer to after being around OOTP for so long:
When players are "hot" or "cold," is that just an indicator? In other words, is the game telling you the player is hot or cold because their performance recently has been particularly good or bad? Or is it a "status," indicating that this player's stats are temporarily sub-par? I'm trying to figure out, if you have players in a slump, do you sit them until they get back to normal? Or do you just keep playing them? |

As far as I can tell, if a guy is hot, it means his performance recently has far exceed expectations, and he's tearing it up. If he's cold, then that means he hasn't done jack lately.
If a guy is hot, he's in my line-up, no doubt. If a guy is cold, he doesn't necessarily ride the pine, after all, how many managers are going to have their star player on the bench just because he's in a slump? They'll give him a chance to work out of it. That's my theory behind it, right or wrong. |
