Teams Releasing Players

I setup a new league that has a roster size of 25 and reserve roster of 15. For some reason teams keep releasing player, great players. This is one of the better players in the league and nobody wants him. I am not talking 2 or 3 guys, 12-15 at the end of the season are released while they only have 5-8 on the reserve roster, they have room to keep them.

That was my thought as well, maybe he wants that A-Rod type contract and nobody in the league could afford it? Other than that, maybe a bug?

it is 12-15 players per team each year getting released.

I added a minor league level and it stopped.

Setting your reserve roster to no limit seems to solve this. This has been an issue that has been around for years and never seems to get solved.

But hey, we have team owner goals now!

I think i am going to have to just use one level of minors then or set it unlimited and try to control it.

I really did not want to use minors in a small regional league, just not realistic.

For realism purposes, you could handle it sort of like they do in Japan and treat the minor league team as basically an extension of the major league team -- same team name, uniforms and everything -- just a separate "B squad" of players that follows the major league team around and plays their games in the same stadiums and everything (probably not literally, since synchronizing the schedules would be a pain, but if I were doing this I'd just abstract that away in my head).

Just set the reserve roster to unlimited instead of 15.

If the reserve roster start to get bloated with players then thats a indicator that you have too many players being created every year. Either adjust that or add more leagues to soak up the extra players.
