Question Talent Change Randomness

What settings do people use?

Mine is currently set to the default 100, but I've heard good things about increasing it.

I like the idea of late-round talent blossoming into something special, but I don't want to go so far that there's almost no point in drafting people in th first round or whatever.

Feedback appreciated!

Depends on what you want. I think the default is realistic with young players sub 25 years old but completely unrealistic with veterans in the late 20s and early 30s. If you turn it up, the randomness will make the above problem more acute and if you turn it down, it makes the game produce wwaaaaayy too many superstars out of the minors to the point that superstar loses meaning.

I keep it at 100 for realistic young players. I just wish that it treated veterans better or at the very least, it should treat smart, high work ethic veterans better. I really dont think those personality traits do anything. Ive had a lot more poor and very poor Int, Work Ethic players bloom into superstars than very high or high. Ive also seen very high players fizzle in their late 20s just as often. In real life, superstar veterans, dont fizzle without injury but in this game it happens often.

I had a great closer a few seasons ago who started falling off the cliff at age 27 or so... made no sense. This was a relief pitcher with super high stamina and no notable injuries. He went from stuff in the 20s to the low teens over 1 year... I kept him one more season just to see if it was a fluke but nope, his ERA jumped about 1.5 points and I had to let him go...
