What settings are commonly used that I could be using? Such as AI trading, AI lineup setup, trading freq, best mods, only using 3 levels on minors, etc?
Just wanted to know what customization people do to make their franchise more enjoyable. |

League evolution off in MLB setups.
Playoff roster based on the secondary roster, not the active roster Playoff series staggered between subleagues, and series start dates set to fixed dates Talent change randomness at or near 200. In MLB setups, use custom schedules instead of repeating the 2015 schedule every year |

Ditto all of what was said above.
Some other things that can be fun, that I always do in my MLB games: -Expand to 32 teams, and do a divisional realignment (I currently have 4 divisions of 8 teams each) -Allow trading of draft picks I also usually bring the DH to the NL. |

Also, set the AI Evaluation to something that favors last year's stats over ratings. 40/40/10/10 is my favorite, but most will tell you to drop the ratings number even further.

I personally use 10/60/20/10 for AI evaluation

It makes player development and performance more unpredictable. Makes the amateur draft more of a gamble, and there could be the occasional late rounds draft pick that develops into an all star.
To add, I always make sure to check the "overall rating based on AI evaluation, not pure ratings" option. Last edited by D-BacksJosh; 07-13-2015 at 01:11 AM. |

I keep mine at 50. Death to randomness!

Yeah, my TCR is steady at 100. I would call that one a lot more of a personal preference than some of the others on the list (though when it comes down to it, it's all personal preference, really).
I would also second the suggestion to change the AI Eval to heavily favor stats. I use 10/50/30/10, though others will tell you to zero out ratings entirely. |

Yea randomness is already pretty crazy if you use very low scouting... i have a legendary scout who misses ratings on amateurs by about 50% regularly. I keep it at 100 and I have barely bred about 1 superstar every 10 seasons doing it that way. Lots of average and bench players, some stars, but very few superstars. I think this is realistic (in a fictitious league).

I think 100 TCR is good also.

I agree with the people saying keep talent randomness at 100. I use it and just had a 25th round draft pick (in a fictional league with a 25 round draft) start and win the clinching game of the Championship Series.
