What's This -- Purchase player for $0
I've never seen this until this league (started in 1903). If I get a list of players and right click on it, there is an option to purchase the player for $0. It might be the best player in the league, but for the amazing sum of nothing, he can become part of my organisation.
A 24 year-old Ty Cobb? $0. A 21 year-old Smokey Joe Wood? He's mine for $0. I tried it once and I got the player. Absurd. Has anyone else seen this foolishness? Thanks.

Check your settings on the Financials tab, there is a 'Allow players to be posted as FA prior to Eligibility' and make sure that is set to no, or raise the maximum posting fee. It sounds like it's set to Yes, and the maximum posting fee is $0.

Actually, I don't believe this is correct. I ran into the same situation as the OP and after testing this, I believe this has to do with the check box for "Allow players to be purchased by other Leagues for $___" rather than "posting." Increase the purchase price to make the decision more of a challenge or just deselect the "purchase" check box. Same screen as NYY 23 identified, just different box.

And the winner is................
Suggestion #2. Posting was disabled and I saw that I could allow players to be purchased from other leagues for $0. I turned of the purchasing and lo and behold, I could no longer do it. My previous league didn't have this issue (unless I never noticed it), and I think it's a foolish default. I think the default should be absurdly high so there can be no bargain basement sales. Thanks for you help.

it's actually not a default selection.
