I just checked, and I must admit I have never used the "overall based on ai evaluation, not pure ratings" option. I have always left it unchecked.

After checking the option, his overall ratings now look like this:

To mean it seems like a reasonable trade. Bet on a future ace or solid number 2, and get a player who can hit well plus play both corner spots.

This kind of reminds me of when the Mariners traded Pineda to the Yankees for Jesus Montero.

In the leagues I play in the talent randomness level isn't that high, that A ball kid becomes an ace more often than not. I would pull the trigger on that trade also, especially if I wasn't ready to compete.
