How do you run a draft, in-game, in an online league?
In an online league I am in, I'm helping the commissioner, who has had this dumped on him due to the previous commissioner quitting, try to figure out the draft. He's having a terrible time autoing the draft and we'd like to know how that can be done. Can anyone help?

Once you get to the draft day, just pause, and have people submit their draft lists in game and export.
Then the commish continues the draft for however many round was said (you can do it all at once, or in parts). Upload a new file without advancing any days, rinse and repeat until your draft is over. |

How do you get the new in game lists for rounds 2 and beyond without importing a new export file? i am guessing you have to have 100% of the teams exporting in that case, otherwise the draft gets out of sync?

They are not only very helpful for the draft but many other features can help the league. For drafting on those sites, you can export the in game draft order and draft pool to Statslab/OOTPU, run the draft as you want, when it is finished you export from Statslab/OOTPU and import into the game. All done very quickly. To answer your question with in game lists though, you would need everyone to create draft lists for ALL rounds, and then import their exports and simulate the draft. It will autodraft from their lists. I'm not a fan of this method. If you guys need any help please PM me. |

1) Importing from OOTP OU is different than importing from a game export.
2) You can have the GMs build a new list for each round and import them daily (real life time). You can also have the GMs draft on the forums and the commissioner can manually make the picks. 3) You then sim the round you are on. You can follow this for each round in the draft if you like. We forum draft/ in game lists for each of the first 5 (out of 20) rounds then sim the remaining 15 rounds in one shot. 4) Build a league file like normal, export to your servers and have the GMs download. They can adjust their draft lists and export. Normally the game will not accept multiple exports/imports on the same game date. The draft IS an exception to this. Your GMs can export multiple times as you sim the draft. They can also create on master draft list "Add player to all draft lists", export that and not export for the rest of the draft. 5) The only oddity (may be fixed in 16) is when doing multiple sims on draft day non draft roster moves are sometimes undone. I would put a note in to your GMs to hold off on roster moves until the draft is complete and the game has been advanced a day from the draft. 6) I have using this method as a GM and commish since 2007 and it works fine. If you have any questions post here or feel free to PM me. Thanks, Tom (LP)
