game white-screening and "freezing"
Something that hasn't made any sense to me - how come, if I minimize OOTP, the game screen goes white and refuses to respond to anything, not even closing the game? This has ruined literally entire seasons for me...and I know, you could say, "then don't click it." Well, if I'm browsing the computer while playing, like I often do, and I accidentally double-click the icon on the toolbar, this happens, and frankly, I don't get it one bit.
Why does this happen? It's literally the only program I've ever had this happen to ever. (apologies in advance if this comes across as angry/rude, but I just lost an entire season - and possibly more, I forget when I last saved - where my team was in playoff contention in late August, and it was a season that included a lot of injuries, trades, moves, etc.) |

Obviously, this is a bug, and likely something to do with your particular system since I'm not aware of anyone else seeing this. Markus takes crashes pretty seriously, so I would submit a support request through whatever the normal channels are these days.
Also, back up your league early and often. Not because OOTP is buggy, but just because it's smart practice, and it certainly would have lessened your pain in this case.

Sorry for the bump, but I'm having the same issue. Submitted a ticket for this. I was hoping it would have been taken care of in a patch, or with the upgrade to Windows 10, but no.

Is this a pure white screen or the "foggy" white screen where you can still see whatever is on the monitor?
I ask because I used to get this on occasion with other programs, usually firefox but never OOTP, with my old computer. Always assumed it was due to overloading the computer's capability whether RAM or hard disk access. Most of the time it would clear on it's own given time. A bit like the occasional report here from others that says OOTP shows as "not responding" in task manager but in reality it is trudging away in background until it gets "caught up" with it's work. I've never had the issue, either the white screen in firefox or OOTP "not responding" since upgrading to an xps i7 with 8 gig RAM (I know OOTP doesn't use 8 gig but it leaves RAM for other things). OOTP is a very heavy user of system resources so to those having these issues.. What version, OS, RAM, other programs running(virsus protection, malware, browser, music, etc)? Are you giving it time to "work through" the bottleneck? Don't pretend to have any real answers just throwing out some possibilities since there isn't really a lot of information given other than the game stops responding. |

It's pure white. I know if it's foggy it's not responding and usually will straighten itself out soon. Pure white? It's not fixed itself yet. The pointer does tend to change if there's something that would normally be clicked on, though.

Kind of with Battists then, that it must be some type or rare conflict on very few systems. Otherwise I think it would certainly have a large thread going. Support ticket and upload league file would be my suggestion. Though it could very well be, even with your file, they can't reproduce the white screen on their systems. So maybe add a detailed listing of your system and what is running at the time OOTP is? |

This was my thought before I even entered the thread. IF OP is playing full screen (and you too, xx2khazard), my recommendation would be to play windowed, maximized instead. Yes, you lose a half-inch of screen real estate, perhaps (not if you also auto-hide the toolbar), but you will avoid the chronic problem OOTPB has with full screen mode on some computers.
Ironically, I dealt with that problem for two or three versions of OOTPB before the finally changed something that fixed the problem on my laptop. The current version works fine in full screen mode now and I can ALT+TAB in and out of it with no problem. I note, though, that OP said "I minimize OOTP" so maybe my experience is not germane. However, I can recommend an unlicense/uninstall/reinstall procedure to see if that clears things up.

hey thanks for the response although I'll be happy to tell you the problem is all fixed now I too can alt+tab lol. I filed a support ticket and it seemed that the driver I had was close to the latest but not the exact therefore the helper who was assigned to me found the latest driver himself for me and its great now. The support system ootp has going is phenomenal.
