The OOTP16 Appreciation Thread

I was unable to respond to the thread regarding the latest patch since I was sick last week and by the time I got healthy the thread was closed. I'd just like to say that while no game is perfect and we're always going to have bugs to contend with on a computer program, I sincerely appreciate what the OOTP16 programmers and developers have done over the years. IMHO the game gets better and better every year and I personally think that there are bigger problems in the world than having to wait a couple of days to play a game.

I'm disappointed and surprised that some very knowledgeable fans and OOTP players are reacting so negatively to OOTP16, Steam, etc. I recently had an issue with my game crashing and had to contact customer service for the first time. The response was quick and nothing but professional and, thankfully, I was able to resolve the issue on my own. I have friends who work in IT and I know full well how hard these guys work so I've got a pretty good idea of how dedicated the OOTP staff is to their careers, often working long hours and spending many hours creating programs, compiling data and correcting errors, fixing bugs, etc.

I'd just like to acknowledge them today with this thread and to let them know that at least this guy appreciates all that they do, even if there are others here that don't. Thank you.

I agree! Thanks for getting me so into this game where I feel like I am actually doing these moves and building the Blue Jays/Tigers into championship teams year after year. Between school and work OOTP takes up the rest of my time because it really gets you hooked! You also have to thank this community. The Devs are on here offering assistance daily, the veterans are fun and willing to help with any questions. Ive only been playing since June and I know Id already preorder the next 10 lol.. luckily my gf doesnt complain about my extreme love for baseball and now OOTP!

After playing OOTP 16 since March, there is no way I would be able to go back to an older version.

- Trophy case on player profiles
- Player info pop-ups when hovering over names
- One-click baseball card generation for teams/new card tab in player profiles
- HOF voting and plaques with text
- Real All-Star game voting
- Playoff MVP's and Silver Sluggers
- Manager/coach types and personalities
- Pennant chase and playoff related news articles
- Find-a-player feature

Etc..

The additions this year have been ridiculously great. It will be hard to top this year's version, but I'm sure they will be able to pull it off.

One thing I'm hoping for next version is improving the historical archiving for managers. When looking at league histories, I'd like OOTP to keep track of who the personnel was for that specific season.
