Question about draft pick trading

Greetings.

I have draft pick trading turned on. However, it's weird. Sometimes I can try and trade for draft picks (it shows up in the trade screen) and sometimes there is no draft pick section for the other team on the trade screen.

Is this normal, and if so, why?
Has this happened to anyone else and they think it's strange?
Is this only a personal attack on me?

Thanks in advance for any help or insight.

Thanks,
Martin

Really? No one uses draft pick trading? I find that hard to believe.

Doesn't anyone have an experience with what I described?

Sorry to bother you.

Thanks in advance.

I never play with draft pick trading so I don't really know. Is it possible they already traded their picks? Is there a limit on how many picks you can trade within a set time?

I use it. Its always there for me. You have to just scroll down. If you don't scroll down it appears nothing is there.

That got me the first time. Now I always scroll down and some seasons it's there, and other season's it's not.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Then I wouldn't have a clue unless somehow in the settings, "Allow Draft Pick Trading" is getting unchecked...

It took me many seasons but I finally figured it out (for those who care).

It's there during the regular season. Once the season ends it disappears until next season. You can make "regular" trades as soon as the season ends, but you can't use draft picks.

Since I believe like crying, there is no trading of draft picks in baseball, the developers just arbitrarily decided this would be the rule. Personally, I don't like it because it lacks logic. It's similar to saying you can't trade Derek Jeter in the off-season (and yes I know you should never trade Derek Jeter).

I don't think that's true. I have always been able to trade draft picks anytime except the actual day of the draft. The only reason the team wouldn't be able to trade a draft pick is if they don't have it (Already traded or lost via FA compensation). I have confirmed this with both leagues that draft in June (mid-seasonish) and leagues that draft in November (when the season is over).

And FWIW, I would trade Derek Jeter.

I apologize. You are correct sir. It is actual draft day that you can't trade draft picks. I still don't get it. In the NHL, for example, they are always trading their draft picks on draft day.

(I'd trade Derek Jeter too but I didn't want to offend anyone).

Well, if it happens in the NHL I can't understand why it doesn't happen everywhere!

...and I would NEVER trade Derek Jeter, unless he was on the Yankees.
