Random Late Inning Crashes

I am still periodically getting random crashes and it always appears late innings. I notice it seems to always happen in the eighth or ninth and when changing half innings

I may go 20 games and never have one , then I might have it happen twice in a five game stretch

It is so random that I can't begin to isolate the cause or when it could happen. It is very annoying though especially if your ace pitches a great game only for it to crash late and end up having to be replayed then he loses

I have a relatively new (2 + yr old) laptop and keep it updated. Since nobody else seems to have this I gotta believe it is something in my system but I have no ideas

Any thoughts on what to look for that could cause something like this? It has happened all the way back to Ver 14. Which incidentally happens to be the first version on this laptop

Is it always the same inning? Can you do the same actions in a game and get it to repeat itself? Have you modified/deleted any files from the game? For issues like this that appear to be related to the system, we recommend filing a support ticket (Submit a ticket - Powered by Kayako Help Desk Software) and our team can hopefully help diagnose the problem. Ideally if you can track when exactly you notice these, that may help track down the issue.

Not always the same point. It could be end of the seventh, mid or end of the eighth. It has been difficult to isolate as it is very random. Has happened in this version and last as well. Nothing deleted and not been able to force it either. I have tried things like shutting off Norton etc but no real change.

Again it is very random. Not certain but seems to be more prevalent when I play numerous games or maybe have OOTP open for extended periods but not really even sure if that. It isn't a deal breaker as it doesn't happen all the time it just has me crossing my fingers going into late innings of every game and winching at the monitor when half innings change

I opened a ticket. 13234. I am going to be playing a lot of games this evening so I turned on debug within the game to hopefully see if it may catch something(?)

Consider defragmenting your HDD if you haven't already. You say the system is fully updated so in my experience if it is not a driver/video problem then file fragmentation may cause some random crashes.

Two other suggestions, both long shots.
  1. Check for league file bloat. If the league file is large and fragmentation exists... The solution is to delete unnecessary files. There are several threads on this.
  2. I was able to continue playing a league file that was crashing by backing up and restoring it under a different name. Again it's probably a long shot but it did save an 80 year league for me.

It happens to me too but only if I close the program mid-game and reload and continue later (needless to say, I don't do this anymore). I could only finish those games by simming entire innings (instead of play by play mode).
