Well, since I am unable to re-license OOTP16, I guess my time playing is at an end. I have tried numerous things support has had me do, but to no avail. I hope when OOTP17 is released, I will be able to play that.

They said they have already did that. Keep getting error messages saying Activation Unexpected Failure and in debug mode saying Esellerate is key valid for product failed. Both messages happen when I copy and paste or type the serial in manually. Even tried to unistall completely and reinstall from scratch, still same messages come up.

There has to be something they can do. Issue a new key and wipe any record of your key?

I know it's not helpful right now but you can avoid all that mess on Steam. Steam is safe.

Can the extensions (mods) be used with the Steam version?

I do not see any reason why not. I played 14 on Steam, you did not even need an active internet connection. The game sits on your HD like it would otherwise, just in the Steam Directory.

I was just hesitant using Steam for the fact a few people I know said they somehow contracted a virus from them. But OOTP support has told me they probably got a virus from another program and blamed it on Steam. I was unaware that Steam is software and not an actually web based site.

Steam is amazing! If I had Steam 20 years ago, I never would have had to drive an houtr to the closer EB to buy stuff. A virus from Steam would be tough since to control and look at everything that gets put on their servers that get sent to you.

Steam has no peer.

Steam is better to video game distribution than OOTP is to baseball simulations.

It is that good.

Ditto. I purchased from OOTP and used my steam key. No probs there.
