Hello everyone, I'm trying to create a historical league starting in 1884 with real players, but have everyone develop using the OOTP engine. So I'm not interested in single season historical accuracy by any means. There are two settings I'm having trouble with. Pitcher stamina based on either 3 years or career, and base rookie fielding ratings on 3 years or career.
Does anyone have any experience using these settings? I've heard that for pitcher stamina, setting it to 3 years unnecessarily gimps some good pitchers and can ruin careers, and setting it to career can yield better results. Is this true of rookie fielding ratings as well or are those best left at 3 years? |

Only problem with career stamina is that Eck is never a SP, he will always have a 1 for STA (1-10 scale)
I prefer 1 yr for stamina career for fielding in some cases. If you are going to let OOTP develop them then i would probably use 1 yr for both. The recalc i always use at 1 yr so you dont have someone who had a fluke great year do it for 3 yrs like Brady Anderson.
