Defensive Strategy Settings In-Game Management Questins
I play out my games but I like to delegate some of it to the AI. For example, I handle baserunning, substitution, and would like to handle defensive strategy. However, unless I control pitching, I cannot control the defensive strategy as the options are disabled. Based on this, I thought that the AI would then take my strategy preferences into account but I'm not sure they do because I have my strategy set to use infield in and shift infield set to high usage but I've yet to see those be used in a minimum of 200 - 300 games.
As an experiment I loaded a test game and changed my strategy and the opposing manager strategy to have those two options selected for all times to be maximized. I then switched a majority of the hitters to extreme pull hitters and re ran scouting. I opened a game and was hoping to see the strategy change when one of these hitters came to bat but it still says "infield normal". Below are a couple screenshots of what I'm referencing and I'm hoping someone here is familiar with this and point me to a setting I don't have set correctly. Any help is appreciated. |

Do the positions change at all during the game? It could be that the indicators are "locked" somehow, so it does happen but you don't see it. Either that or there could be something about your managers that prevents them from using shifts.

No, I don't believe the positions change. I am the GM/Manager so I thought it would use my strategy but I changed my bench coach's as well just in case but still no effect. You may be right about it happening behind the scenes though, I just don't have a way to tell. Thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated. |
