the last part is the stickler. so many options influence league totals. it's almost impossible to share specific values with anyone else. you can give them ideas and they will have to adjust it from there. even how you have AI evaluation set up will significantly affect results.

i think the year-to-year fluctuation of success% is excellent, in my experience.

to reduce expected error, you need more than decades of data for the offensive LTMs (never looked into others). i've done multiple 100 and 150 year runs while honing better leageu total mods and player creation mods. i even have a spreadsheet that automatically inputs the csv dumps and calculates new modifiers when i hit the refresh key. unfortunately, they are pretty much useless to other people. (there is a fault in the spreadsheet as to how the mod calculations work, but they are good enough for government work - too lazy to make it do it the right way. i just adjust it a few ticks short of the suggestion based on the difference from original value)

rl stats is definitely the starting point, but you can't just use all of baseball history and expect it to represent modern baseball. ignoring the deadball era and steroid era for various stats is a good idea. removing outliers and bad data is needed. the game's engine should produce the right amount of volatility based on what you want it to average for the various stats.

I really think you are making it seem way too complicated. It isn't that way at all and you may scare off other players from pursuing realistic or non realistic results. I have several threads on the subject.
