Shutout not recorded?

Won a game 17-0, with my starter going the distance (9.0IP/8H/0R/0ER/6K) however he wasn't credited with a shut out anywhere in the game (no news item nor anything in his player history).

Is there some sort of rule which would explain why he wasn't credited with one? (It says he has 1 shutout under 'pitching stats 2')

EDIT: Loaded up an old test save to confirm a suspicion, saw a player with 3 shutouts under pitching stats 2, but only 2 on his profile. The one not recorded he gave up 7 hits, so it seems like if you give up 7 or more hits it's not recorded on a player profile but is recorded under pitching stats 2.

Yep, that's been my observation as well. Shutouts with 7+ hits aren't regarded by the game as accomplishments.

This is true. Shutouts with max six hits are in the history tab on the player profile and get a story and all. Shutouts over seven hits are only on the BNN Page and pitching stats 2 and get no story.

Never knew about them being on BNN page, makes it somewhat easier to track them instead of just leaderboard appearances. Thanks for that

Obivously isn't a huge deal, but hopefully can have 7 hit+ shutouts also appearing on players history pages in OOTP17

EDIT: Mainly as my minor league journeyman starter just put up a 7 hit shutout in his 2nd ever ML game late in his career, and he should be honoured on his history page dammit

Agreed. Especially in historic leagues where pitchers went the route more often, it wasn't that unusual to scatter eight or nine hits and get the clean sheet.

I just edit the player's history to give him credit for the shutout that way.
