Odd Pre Season Prediction Report
I looked at my team's pre-season prediction from the reports page and noticed the prediction was for my team finished mid-division at .500 for the year.
What's odd is that I then looked at the Top Batters and Top Pitchers. I have a pretty good team, so I wanted to check. Under Top Batter, my team has BOTH #1 and #2 predicted top batters! Then I looked at Top Pitchers and also notice I have BOTH #1 and #2 predicted top Pitchers! My team is now half-way through the season and leading then entire league. I'm wondering how the preseason predictions are made because it was surprising to see the team predicted to be .500 and mid-division yet also predicted to have both the league TOP 2 batters and pitchers. |

If you run a search on the forum using "Preseason Predictions", you'll find several threads that discuss them and how they work.
Bottom line - don't read too much into them. Washington was supposed to walk away with the NL East this year, how'd that go?

I have noticed that at the beginning of spring training the prediction would be one thing then when you go down to your 25 man roster I have noticed on occasion NOT every year the prediction changes. Sometimes for the improvement sometimes for the worse.

My team was predicted to win 107 games and I ended up with 82 wins and missed the playoffs for the first time in 50+ seasons.
