Player won't negotiate contracts

When a player will not negotiate contracts, is there a way to reset switch so they will?
Thanks.

It's part of the game. Sometimes players won't negotiate. Use commissioner mode if you must

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that would be the response. I was hoping for a switch because in the case that made me ask the question, I thought I was giving more than the demand and I guess that was not true.

The player's loyalty level is a good indication of how interested players are in negotiating with you. Lower loyalty usually suggests the player will just go for whoever is the higher bidder(greed influences that as well).

Players can also change their minds. I have tried to extend players early in the season and they say they want to test free agency and then I go back later in the season and they'll talk. Also traded a star player (who would negotiate with me on an extension) to another team. The player originally wouldn't talk with the new team but has since changed his mind and signed an extension.

Definitely adds to the game.

Are you set to "rebuilding" by chance? This has a major impact with high-level players.
