Dead players? (In real life)

Kind of a weird "issue" came up while was in one of my leagues. I don't really keep track of who's hired as manager. But a story came up and said "Ivan Calderon out as Cubs manager"..... Ivan Calderon has been dead since 2003. I guess I can delete him, but is this normal? Are there players who died in real life still in the game?

there's a possibility of all sorts of errors in the database for various reasons. it's not personal and a purely chance occurence.

*edit: i'm sure theres a forum to submit errors that you find. not sure if one fits better than 'bug report thread', so take a look first.

Oh yes, and it's not like we should just forget about all that Ivan Calderon did, haha. He was a fairly decent player, and was well liked by fans of my Seattle Mariners. But I was just taken by surprise to see him named as a manager.

Well you know, except the occasional owner, who miraculously enough always seems to get replaced by a son bearing the same name (aside from the "Jr." part.).

It is weird though, this is the first instance IIRC that I've ever seen a real life dead person in the database, at least as a manager. I've never seen Tony Gwynn or anyone like that come up. I should mention, this is a "modern" league, starting in 2015. So it's not like I started in 1983.

Part of why I have always enjoyed baseball sim games is because the heroes of my youth live on forever, kind of like Field of Dreams

It sort of loops around. Like a rollover bug or something.

It's actually kind of weird. As a MGR is has him born in 1980 but when you view his former player card is shows playing in 1872 and has him born in 1980.

Maybe, one day, Rascal will come back as well from the farm he went to when I was nine years old.

Maybe. One day.
