All Star Ballot

How is the All Star Ballot determined by position? I have the best player in the league was not on the ballot. He played RF for half of the season, was traded, and then moved to CF (I play an 80 game season, with All Star game after 60th game). So, I thought perhaps there was a minimum number of games played at a position required.

Then, I looked at the ballot for the other league RF position, and a player that only played ONE game at RF yet played 50 games at CF, was on the RF ballot.

Doesn't seem to make sense. Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated!

My SP who was 9-0 and had the same amount of starts as the rest of the SP's on the ballot never made it.. I was wondering the same.

Glad this isn't just me. I went to do my ballot for the first time in my Modern MLB League, and I actually made the mistake of researching the best player to vote for at each position...only to find 1/3 of those players not on the ballot at their positions, or anywhere else for that matter.

This is why I select my own, even though it's very control-freaky of me.

What do you mean select your own? How do you do that?

I let the game select the starters and 1 day before the voting end, I take a screenshot so I can remember. I will then select the rest of the team the same day. It's been a while since I played a season with an all star game(I have been playing in the deadball era lately) I think if you just select them before the voting ends then its your selections.

I have had pitchers with losing records nake the all-star team when obvious more deserving people were left out.

There's a tab for "Manual All-Star Selection" in the same spot as the ballot when you go to do your voting for the game I believe. The computer will have the teams picked already, but you can get in there and make changes if you disagree. Just do it a few days before the teams get announced or you won't be able to do it.

Seriously, you're looking at wins and losses for pitchers on the All-Star team? Sometimes guys can seriously outpitch their win/loss records and deserve inclusion. Just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth. About this much.

I doubt a guy that was 4-9 with an ERA of 4.14 was ether then my 8-2 2.44 guy but maybe had something to do with all teams representative

There's a box you can uncheck in League Settings > Options that's labeled "Force all teams to be represented at the All-Star Game". I do that because some years there are some teams that just don't deserve representation if you know what I mean.
