Career Ending Injury Error?

I recently had a player 39 years old have a "career ending injury" decide to retire. However, there was no indication in the game what the injury was. On the players BNN page, it says "career ending injury" and then the next news for the player says "Player retired."

I am wondering, are there more specifics for career ending injury....like cancer, broken neck, etc.? Or was this an error?

I did edit the injury txt file, but this was just to make the length of injuries shorter since I only play an 80 game schedule.

Maybe your edit to the injury file screwed things up?

Was there something in the news about why the player retired?I know on my game Alex Rodriguez retired to undertake a broadcasting career and on his player history page it says something like 'career ending injury ()' or along those lines.

Of course this is assuming storylines are on.

Yeah, probably a storyline retirement.

I didn't recall why he left, but the line reads exactly as you mentioned it like "career ending injury ()". Why the "()" and is there a way to correct this?

Not that I'm aware of, I assume the () is as there wasn't any actual 'injury' per say the player just retired and that causes it to be listed as a career ending injury because of the storyline (even if it was just a straight retirement). Guess only way would be for OOTP to be coded in future versions to not have a storyline retirement be listed as a career ending injury.

Otherwise could always edit the players history to list the reason of retirement if you still have the news item.
