Jackson losing 6-0 to Beaumont. Jackson pitcher hits with 0 out top of the 8th.
Back to my real league. Thank goodness I use the DH. Last edited by David Watts; 02-15-2016 at 09:38 AM. |

Are we talking about the latest patch that affected only games played on a Mac? And if so, are people seeing this on both PC and Mac?
I've been so busy lately that I haven't touched the game in a couple weeks. Seeing this problem resurface is very disappointing. |

Not sure if this is related but I had my closer enter the game to replace my starting RF after he got hurt in the 7th inning of a game and he even batted in the top of the 8th with a runner on 2nd and one out with my team losing 4 to 3. I had 2 guys on the bench (at 100% fatigue) who both play RF that did did not enter the game.

I am still on 16.9.39 and I don't see the problem. It could indeed be the 16.10 patch that re-introduced the issue. Hopefully, one of the developers will see this soon.

Do you guys have pinch hit option set for normal or often or very often I'm sure that will account for some of the things happening?

In the examples above, I started with the 1973 default settings of normal I then switched it to often. Things got better, but still had odd "I give up" strategy used. Didn't try very often.

I just started playing out games in OOTP16 and I'm still running 16.9, and I just saw a very poor choice by AI.
Angels up 2-1, bring in a reliever (era is 1960s so no "closers" yet) in the bottom of the 8th and coughs up a 2-run homer to give us the 3-2 lead. In the 9th, the Angels rally against my closer, putting runners on first and third with two outs, and the pitcher's spot due up. The reliever who blew the save stays in to bat. This definitely seems like a game-breaker for me, and I'm sad to see it's happening even in 16.9 not just 16.10. I sure hope this gets addressed in OOTP 17, because this is super unrealistic and completely takes you out of the game. |

Just happened again. Raccoons up 5-1 with the other team batting in the bottom 7th, runner on second, two outs, they have their reliever pop out to shallow right. This is ridiculous! It's September! They have like 50 batters on their roster!

AI managers are basically giving up. This was fixed and now it's back. Bummer.

MR Ian Ward just batted for the Condors in the bottom 7th the following day. They were down 7-1 with a man on first base and one out. Ward strikes out. Then Pancho Ybarra doubles, 7-2. Foster Leach singles, 7-3. Juan Diaz singles. Rob Morris doubles, 7-4. Johnny Crum grounds out to end the inning. If they just had batted for their ****ing pitcher.

This combined with the lack of OOTP 17 news makes me an unhappy boy.

By then Ian Ward will have batted another 48 times, reaching twice on a single, and an error, the latter probably by a Raccoons third baseman. That makes me angry.

We will release a maintenance patch to fix this soon. Sorry this cropped back up, we have no clue how it happened.

Secondly, for those interested who are still playing 16.9 and not 16.10, I've played out about 15 more games since the incident I quoted above, and I haven't seen it happen again since. So I guess this one was a fluke and 16.9 is still mostly "stable" in this regard. It just really stuck out since I had just read this thread minutes before I had it happen to me. |

Just happened to me on 16.9, but it might have been an attempted bunt because I don't go pitch-by-pitch. I didn't get a "1-1 count: Bunt missed!" message, though.
