Question for those who use historical replay.

I've started a new league in 1969 using all real players. I drafted Steve Garvey, who at this point is a third baseman. I know that IRL he injured his arm and was forced to move to first base. How does OOTP handle something like this. Do they just take away his third base eligibility in the season he stopped playing third IRL?

If you use recalc, he will move to 1B when he should. If you don't, he probably won't until later on in his career when his defensive skills are diminished. At least I think that's how it works.
