Closer to reliever

I just signed holland with the intention of him being a 7 or 8th inning guy but he closed with the astros will that effect his preformance? Rosenthal is my current closer that has led the league in saves for 3 straight years.

i can't attest for poor teams, but if you have a winning club it shouldn't make much difference.

set him to RP, not CL. that is an organization's perogative, not the player's. although he can be unhappy with it, of course.

i almost always have 3 high-end releivers. i don't even look at their morale, but i bet the ones not closing aren't happy about their role. however, their ovreall morall is never below Normal or even happy probably... they perfrom just fine. they'd likely perform just fine if unhappy too.

remember with relievers that even a 2.00 era hof-quality guy can swing from 1 to 3+ ERA or more in any given season. just because a guy plays poorly in a small sample size doesn't mean you can attribute it to the most recent change/concern.

We just won 2 straight world series i think he'll be just fine being an 8th inning guy or something like that.
