Pitching every four days intead of five

I imported my game from OOTP16 where everything was normal. Pitchers threw every five games. Since I imported the game, pitchers are pitching on only three days of rest. I have not changed any settings, pitcher stamina in my settings is "low." I started another game and did not change the settings and pitchers in that game were also starting every fourth day. I am seeing different rest percentages. They used to be predictable, but it seems like everything is happening a day sooner. I've also seen rest %s at 95%, 96%, and 97% which never happened before. For the sake of realism, I think this pitcher rest thing is a problem.

I can confirm this as well. Seems to be skipping the 5th starter and running on 4 even though its set to a 5 man rotation. Standard MLB game.

this happened in all the versions i have played. if a decent stamina pitcher stays under 125, he's typically high 90% rested by day four. if it's happening with ~140 pitches, then something is wrong. this is realistic. the mlb uses a 5th guy not because they can't do it phyiscally, but because it lengthens careers (i'd trust the research if it says yes/no to that).

what's different in '17 is the default rotation strategy (i believe league settings -> stats and AI). this is defaulted to start highest rested, i think. simply change that to "occasionally start highest rested" or a strict rotration. occasional will be mlb-like. your top couple starters should 2-3 extra strats or so.

i noticed that league lead in IP was approaching 300IP which i did not see in '16 with what i thought were the same settings. once i changed this setting, it was all back to normal.

See, I have not noticed that at all before this game. I sim game by game and set my pitching staff. I would never, ever have a pitcher at 100% rest after only three days unless his start was cut short. There were even days where I would have to bring a spot starter because none of my pitchers were 100% after four days of rest. I have never even seen a 90-99% rest on a starter. Pitcher rest percentages were a cycle that never changed, and now the cycle is messed up on OOTP17.

In the league strategy settings, set the pitcher stamina to very low, that takes care of this.

Edit: There was a bug in OOTP 16 which caused the pitcher fatigue calculation disregard the team trainer ratings. This got fixed, but it seems it's now too quick. Will be fixed in the patch
