OOTP17 Minor league manager not changing after affiliate switch
In my current career as manager only starting at the bottom as a manager I have had my team undergo an affiliation change but when that happens I am not being moved to be the manager for the new team.
In 1962, I managed the Auburn Mets to 2nd place in the NY Penn League. I was then promoted to manage the Santa Barbara Rancheros in the California League. Over the offseason, however, the minor league teams switched affiliations and I was left jobless despite there being a Mets affiliate available in the California League (Salinas Mets). I figured that out a little after the season started so I just went ahead and took over the Raleigh Mets in the Carolina League as there was a management opening. At the end of the season I was again promoted to manage the Buffalo Bison in the International League. Now after 2 seasons as the Bison's manager I had my contract renewed but the league affiliations changed again with the Mets affiliate switching to the Jacksonville Suns. Again, I was not switched over to manage the team but still was part of the Bison, who are now an affiliate of Cincinnati. I was able to figure this out right away this time so I appointed myself as the manager for Jacksonville in order to keep my career going forward. In short, when teams change affiliation, the managers should be moved to the new affiliate or fired rather than being left in limbo. Last edited by VARoadstter; 04-19-2016 at 05:07 AM. |

Yes, this happens when the team goes extinct. I have fixed it now so that the user gets fired should a team be deleted via minor league auto-alignment.
