One Pitch vs. Pitch-By-Pitch

I was wondering if there was any advantages/disadvantages to one over the other? Specifically, is it possible to see more [steals, wild pitches, foul fly outs, etc.] in one mode over the other?

Yeah in pitch-by-pitch, conceptually you as the manager could force more steals or walks by your choices. But it should not affect the league totals as a whole. And I'm not really sure it will help you win games if you do (more walks would probably be accompanied by more strikeouts, more forced steals probably would increase the %CS, etc...).

But if you just play the game without trying to force an advantage, then no it shouldn't matter at all except for the time it takes to play the game.

The only time I use Pitch-by-pitch is when I am considering a steal attempt. I find the game is very bad at steal attempts in one-pitch mode, but works fine in pitch-by-pitch.

In pitch-by-pitch mode you can choose to wait until a good pitch count (say 2-0) before attempting a steal.
On a 2-0 count (or other hitters counts) there is less likely to be a pitch out to trap your base stealer so your odds of success should be higher.
On one-pitch mode you have no control over when the steal attempt occurs.

I agree with this statement. Once a runner is on base, there is more strategy in pitch by pitch mode. One pitch mode is annoying when trying to steal. Real annoying!!!

I use one pitch until I want to bunt or have a potential base steal available. Other than that I don't think there is any great difference.

The games play much faster in one-pitch mode than in pitch-by-pitch. I also never use one-pitch mode when stealing or bunting.
