Need some advice
I am about to wrap up the first season of a historical MLB dynasty that began in 1975. I'm truly torn between these two options:
1) Not implementing a salary cap but running the risk of a handful of teams dominating free agency when it begins at the end of the '76 season while a handful of teams sit it out and are perennial doormats. The reward is some teams that stick together and provide continuity and a team identity 2) Implementing a salary cap but running the risk of a lack of continuity and identity for teams with keeping players. The reward is more parity within the league. I'd be grateful for anyone's opinions on this. Thanks! Last edited by cheo25; 05-02-2016 at 09:26 PM. |

Personally, I go with #1. Baseball has always been the have and have not system so if you are doing a historical thing, I would say go with that. However, when I set up my fictional stuf, I dont have a have not system like that and try to start everyone at a balance

Thanks for the response. I'm still mulling it over but that is a very good point you brought up, especially when framed in a historical light.
