GM controlling Lineups

I need help finding this again. I started a season as GM only but I was able to tell the manager what the lineups were without playing in GM+Manager mode.

I just started a new file and cant find this option.

Global options, bottom left side of the screen. Forgot the wording, but something like "GM-only managers always control lineups (Legacy Mode)"

Bumping this to ask another question. So, if I do not have that box checked, where I am not automatically granted ability to set lineups as GM, how do I know if the manager will let me?

Go to your manager's page, look for the colored baseball next to "Lineup + Pitching Staff" in "Managing Attributes." There's a legend underneath.

Check your 'Control and Auto-Play Settings' screen on the Manager tab. If the manager won't let you, the option to control them will be disabled.

When hiring a new manager, you can tell whether they'll let you or not from their profile. The first option on the right under Game Strategy is "Lineup + Pitching Staff". If it's red, they won't let you touch it. If it's green, they will.

Pretty sure this is determined by their reputation (higher rep = wants more control) and their personality ('Controlling" = wants more control even at lower rep).

Edit: Boo, beaten to it.

And I'm pretty sure the Lineups icon on the manager page is new to '17.

what happens if you force start? I am a little confused as to how this feature is meant to work.
