Not Quite Ruth...
... but versatile!
I drafted this guy as a pitcher last year - but I've just moved him to the outfield. He could also handle 1B or 3B too I think. What do you think? Pitcher? Outfield? Infield? ![]() I love having a decision like this to make! What a great game! |

I would stick him in the outfield, maybe LF. What a prospect though, could be useful in a lot of positions if he pans out.

Plus you could probably use him as a pitcher in a pinch, maybe a spot start or two. Injury is the risk there, though.

yeah, probably LF. Won't ever be an impact starter without a better 3rd pitch and unless there's significant defensive development he's not much better than a LF

Yep, decent LF imo

Let him learn left, right, corner infield (where depends on the needs of your organisation), in that order. I concur that his best position is left, however use him as another bullpen arm and emergency starter. If he develops fully, he might be a lower order starter as well as batting on his off days.

i'm pretty selfish in these decisions... purely based on what helps my team the most and for the longest time, as opposed to his best position or what creates the greatest utility for my league - although, for the most part the 2 varying viewpoints come to the same conclusion.
if i desperately needed a high-end reliever and i had a killer offense, i'd stick him in the pen. i admit that he'd have to be a really, really good releiver relative to other position options. relievers touch the game alot more than most give them credit...the often used ones are 3/4ths to 4/5ths of an everyday player, if you focus on batters faced vs plate appearances. |
