Can't play through rain-postponed game
(submitted a bug report ticket on this too but god knows how much success I've had with those in the past so I'm posting here too)
I had a game back in April suspended because of a rainout, which was a 2-2 game in the 8th inning. The game was postponed to July, and having gotten to July now, the game will not let me resume. When I click to play the game, I immediately get an "ootp.exe has stopped working" pop-up, and the game crashes. I've made more than a few transactions since the rainout happened, but this kind of thing shouldn't result in the game breaking when I try to play the game a couple of months later. Any suggestions as to how to get past this? I'd really rather not sim through the game if I can avoid it. |

ThePotato, I had a similar problem where it showed as "inning 0" on the suspended game and it crashed whenever I tried to play that day's games. I saw it was certain no stats had accumulated for that game by checking some primary player game logs in their profile (not even the starting lineup having games counted). If that's what is happening to you, after messing around for a while to try different ways to resume, I went into the league schedule and manually deleted the suspended game completely from today's schedule and then put in a brand new rescheduled game for later in the season between the same two teams. That got me by the problem and at the end of the season everyone had played the right number of games. Of course, I'd make a spare different named backup of the game before trying this too.

Do both teams still have all of the players who were playing at the time of the suspension? If not, then the game is probably looking for them in order to resume the game. Obviously, any kind of crash is a bug, but you have already submitted a ticket. I think you have two choices if you don't want to wait for a fix, one of which is the Jays Fan choice, which I would probably endorse. The other would be to get all of the missing players on their former teams by using the editor, finishing the suspended game, and putting the players back.

I know there was one case that was causing problems, but that was fixed in the last patch (17.8.54). If you are on the latest and still have problems, then please ensure that your league files (AND the contents of the replay folder in your saved game file) are uploaded to us, and we can investigate.
After you have done that, if you want to proceed, you can delete the file in the replays folder which corresponds to that game, and then we'll essentially start it over when playing. But obvious the standard warnings apply (ensure you have everything backed up, and there is a chance that players may end up with partial stats from the game by accident, depending on what state it was in). |
