Problem with doubleheader scheduled the next day after postponement
when a game is postponed and rescheduled the next day:
the initial SP (#1) is showing fatigue / pitches thrown as if he played a game -- when you click the box score link from profile page, it shows a different game, different teams. since it shows fatigue, i pick the next pitcher manually on the pitching screen. so, my #2 and #3 should pitch the games. when you sim the double header, the #1 pitcher pitches 8IP like he's not fatigued - nor selected to pitch in the first place -- and then the 2nd game the #3 starter goes, skipping the #2, who then gets bombed early, but only 1 pitcher is used for 4IP of relief -- only 1 releiver pitched the first of the doubleheader, the pen is very rested, and the reliever wasn't even tagged a long reliever... he had 2 pitches, so he got clobbered as he went through the lineup a 2nd time. just something really whacky with ui feedback about fatigue after the game is postponed and the strategy for the bullpen gets jacked in game #2 when there are plenty of options of non-fatigued releivers. it skipped the next pitcher -- i assume had i left it on the original SP1, it would have used the #2 guy, but the #1 was fatigued as if he pitched a full game the previous day... at least that's what it showed me. Repeatable -- I've seen this happen twice in the last week or two. both times the reschedule was the next day... not sure if it happened in other situations. |

Perhaps the postponed game was called before becoming official?

as i said, they guy that shows fatigue from the called game and isn't even scheduled to pitch is actually fully rested and will pitch game 1 of the doubleheader the next day regardless of who you select in the rotation. the game never started. no pitches were thrown.
it then skips the initial pitcher who was slated to pitch the first game and skips to the 2nd pitcher who would have pitched the 2nd game had it all worked as it was displayed in the ui and as expected. extra info for original post: When i clicked the box score of the SP form the postponed game (it showed a score of a finished full 9 inning game in the player's profile), it linked to a game for 2 different teams, but unless it's coincidence i'm pretty sure the pitcher from that game threw the same number of pitches my SP supposedly threw and got tired from, but then miraculously receovers to 100% within 1 day. i keep it on Strict Order and select the most rested SP myself. this may be useful info in addition to what i wrote above. i sim all games, i don't play them out. next time i will make sure to start the game and hand select the pitcher myself, but it would be useful to see the correct fatigue % to make a good decision. update: i've had it happen recently and i "started" each of those games and it showed the right Pitcher as expected from rotation and who is selected in the pitching UI. i then selected sim "Game" from the bottom of broadcase mode and all was good in the world.
i haven't tried simming through a next-day double header since what happened in my orginal posts. i don't intend to, now. LoL |
