Players being released

I have the latest patch, Standard Game, Windows 7. I have "Minor League Free Agents Signing and Release" from the Control and Autoplay Settings, set to myself, but players are being released by the computer. There is plenty of room on my minor league teams. Some of the players are decent projected players.

FYI, if you take control of all promotions and demotions of your minor league teams the AI stops releasing your players and players from other teams.

This just happened to me for the first time since the last update. I have always used the "ask AI to setup the minor league system" during the season for expediency. I also have all promo and roster moves set to me, actually the AI is set to not control a thing. I've been doing this for a least the past 5 alterations of OOTP and all that's happened is the AI promoted and demoted players nothing else, which is what I want. Now when I use this function the AI releases minor league players.

Do I need to go back and reset the AI options?

There was a bug in the most recent patch. We will issue a hotfix for this to come out early this week.

Please read the quoted message and then wait a couple of days.

Really Good Players Being Released

Not sure if this is part of the same problem, but I'm seeing teams release really good, young players. Looking at one player who was 14th overall pick, released following March, signed by another team for over $2 mil. (Release would have been in the past two real world days using latest version.)

I had the same issue earlier in the week. AI released 25 rookie team players, leaving only 5 on the roster. I couldn't play out the day as there were not enough players on my rookie team. So I moved enough players from A league team to cover all 9 player positions on my rookie team. I then had to identify the 25 players that were released and go in an offer minor league contracts to them. I was then able to complete that day and go for a couple of days until the players accepted my offer and they were assigned to my rookie team. I did lose one player to another team that out bid me for his services. I am hoping the patch comes soon as I am hesitant to have AI restructure my minor leagues.

There was a hotfix released yesterday morning which should fix the release bug.
