Historical players being imported into free agents

I know you don't neccesarily support the spritzes DB but I believe there is a bug since someone in the main forum is not having this issue.

I am playing historical using spritzes HS db. Around october all the new historical players are imported into the free agent pool. Come draft time in December fictional players are generated and the new historical players are not imported. Let me know if you need a savegame and I can upload it to the FTP server. I have been working on this for like a week and cannot seem to find a fix.

Go to Game Settings and then to the database tab. The player database location is probably not pointing to the one you are expecting. You can change it right from there.

I also tried to remove the regular historical database file and replace it with the SpritzeHS DB as stated in one of your forum posts.

I rename the historical ODB file and Use the Spritze one. This works for me when I just tested it. What year are you having challenges with?

I am having the same problem. Just to be sure, Is the Spritze database supposed to work the same way as the default where if you have "Automatically Import Historical Rookies" checked and the Amateur Draft is enabled, the Rookies should be imported directly into the draft pool? If the answer to that is no, the the rest of this post is moot.

I am starting in 1871. I selected neutralized stats and I made sure the Spritze database was selected. It imported 268 players for the initial draft. Then towards the end of the year when it went to create the 1871 Amateur Draft pool, it created and loaded fictional players instead. It then imported the 1872 Historical debuts on the first day of the off-season in 1872 (For reference, Jim Britt was one of these imports). When the 1872 draft pool was announced, only one Fictional player was created and the Historical Free Agents were not a part of it.

To be sure I didn't have any of the settings wrong, I also tested using the default files and the historical rookies imported into the 1871 First-Year draft like they were supposed to.

The Spritze database is an exact to the default db just with more players. I will test this and report back.

How many minor league levels do you have?
Ghost players on or off?

the Rule V draft is currently broken. make sure it is off

The game does appear to be creating fictional players, I am going to delete them all and see what happens next.

What happens next is it just makes more fictional players.

The 1872 Rookie class who should be in the 1871 after season draft do not load until 1872 is over. Rookies always appear one year late. I will bug report this.

Thanks for looking in to this.

The funny thing is it seems to work fine with the default data. I just simmed using default through the 1871 and 1872 amateur drafts. Both only contained the historical imported players and looking at the players.csv file, all of the existing players in the league are historical.

Edit: As another test, I realized I still had your files from OOTP16 in my 16 stats folder. I started up a 17 game using that file and so far the first two Amateur drafts have worked correctly with Historical players.
