Problem with adjust/weaken

I recently got OOTP17 and the adjust/weaken function seems to not work. I started several test leagues (historical) and in each case the adjust/weaken did not do anything. So, in each case, guys that were 3/5 for their careers were dominant.

I will also FTP my zipped league file and post a bug report, but if I am not following proper protocol or if this is a solved problem that I missed in the forums I am happy to know. (Or if I am just doing something dumb, but I have been playing OOTP for many years!)

This bug was squashed in earlier builds but may have popped up again. Many have of late. I'll update the Project Tool.

Markus would like to see your zipped file. Please post the name of the file here and the names of a few of the affected players.

Sorry for the delay. I am unable to access OOTP at the moment (long story), so the best I can do right now is to zip up the files and guess at what you should look for. The guy I specifically remember is Mike Hopkins, but since this is a test league I was playing around with, I may have advanced a few years after his 1902 debut. He went 2-2 in his career with a double, and always turns into a top player.

If this file is not helpful, I should be able to use OOTP again in a week or so and can give more assistance at that point. Do feel free to ask me any questions you need answered that would help you. Incidentally, this is all for the now old build of OOTP17, I have not installed the new version and will not until next week.

Nope, I tried to reproduce this, no luck. Hopkins imports just fine when I create a 1902 league, adjusted to a below average player. Also, when I start in 1901 and move forward to 1902, Hopkins is fine as well. So I guess you did indeed enter wrong settings when creating your league.
