Just saw the expected pitching matchups for the ChiSox series and read the name "Tomlin". That might be the worst part of the Salazar injury.

Francona said they were going to let Tomlin get a least one more start this season to see if whatever he has worked on has actually worked. It honestly beats another one of the "Bullpen" games. I look at it like this, he goes out and gives them 5 innings and is decent or gets rocked in 1 1/3 and they have to go to the pen and use 8 pitchers, so it becomes a "Bullpen" day anyway. Either way, they have to see if he is worth putting on the playoff roster.

Wow, just saw Napoli's hits from last night. The ground rule 2B was kinda funny. The homer was another wow moment. I love it when even the guys in the dugout that see this everyday get amazed.

Man, where would this team be without Napoli. I didn't expect much from him at all. For example, I was more excited when we got Brandon Moss last year. He's been amazing.

I don't think its quite sunk in that I'll likely be watching playoff baseball this year. And not just that sucky wild card game, like an actual series. Go Tribe!

I was in the car going to dinner when I heard the ground rule double and Tom Hamilton's call was great. My wife and I both said we never thought a ball could hit the track and bounce over that 19 foot wall.

I will be honest, I was not that excited when they signed Napoli either...I was expecting .230 20 homers and 70 RBIs from him....but never imagined he would have the career year he is having this year. There is no way they would be in position to win the Central without him...and Santana would be having another .231 19 80 year without him protecting him. I hope they can resign him, but Napoli sure has played himself into one more big payday.

Not that Cleveland hasn't played well this year, but, "You're welcome, from the Tigers." If the Tigers-Indians season series was even close, the Tigers would actually be in the division race.

Carrasco out for the rest of the season with a broken finger.....hopefully Tomlin can remember how he pitched early in the season and that Clevinger can handle the pressure of the playoffs.

Maybe Saturday is the formula for success in the playoffs - 10 inning shutout bullpen games. They should just start the 3-man rotation now to get used to it. Kluber, Bauer, Bullpen.

I'm trying not to give up on the season, but it's hard.

Not sure if you saw/heard about the local beat writer that wrote a story on the 17th....The Indians players were pretty mad about it, but I don't disagree with everything he says.

I've seen a couple stories like this now about a 3-man rotation. I think it is more fan/media dreaming than actual reality, but I'd like to see them try. Though I'm worried a little about Bauer's effectiveness on short rest.

Yeah they were talking a lot about it on the local sports talk and it does concern me, especially with how erratic Bauer can be. But I look at it like this, their bullpen is one of the best in baseball so if Tomlin and/or Clevinger can give them 4 or 5 decent innings and then turn it over to the bullpen, they could be ok. But what concerns me if if Bauer goes and gives up 5 in one inning and they need to go to the bullpen early, then they are in trouble. I see them carrying 12 position players and 13 pitchers in the playoffs because of this.

Woohoo! Ready for playoff baseball.

Anybody else think that Tyler Naquin looks like Bro-hio in that picture? I totally had to do a double take.

Let's just hope that Kluber's "sore right groin" isn't anything more serious and he does not miss any time.
