Historical Game with complete minors bug 17.11.73

There seems to be a bug in historical leagues with complete minors where there are free agents being created by the minor leagues but not the majors... example: when the International League season progresses into the offseason the game creates free agents for the international league.

There should be a button to click somewhere in league settings that prevents this from happening.

I forget just exactly where it is now, will try to remember to look later.

At any rate I guess that should probably be turned on by default by the game and it sounds like it isn't as of now.

Not an option as I have the amateur draft on... it's 1987 if that has any bearing

And as I said the major leagues are not creating free agents, every minor league is creating free agents independently, even though they are affiliated with the majors.

It should still be an option because you have the draft on only for MLB, I assume, not for the individual minor leagues.

That's because it's not MLB rules, Spritze misspoke.

It's the rules settings for each individual league, minor or major.

So yeah, changing that would be a bear and we'll definitely want to set those leagues to not create free agents by default but it is possible to change that in your game now, as far as I can see.

I don't see an option to disable free creation in league settings for any of the minor leagues, if you could show me a screenshot of where that is it would be much appreciated

Ugh, been a long day. You may be right, I can't find it.

Thinking it over, I think the feature was originally intended to deal with indy leagues that didn't have drafts or getting assigned players creating players. Affiliated leagues shouldn't ever have created their own players, so the option to prevent that wasn't needed.

So if this is happening, I guess it's a bug for sure.

Can you upload your league files and send me a link (or open a support ticket which amounts to the same thing since it goes to me anyway) so I can get Markus or Matt to take a look at them?

The dreaded and dreadful Build 73 introduced this challenge AFAIK. As well as a plethora of other MiLB challenges.

I believe Lukasberger was just moosejawing through the earhole in his too tight helmet on this issue. Fact checking before commenting is preferred?

Anyway it is on a list of MiLB challenges to be addressed in OOTP18 by the person or persons who address the addressable concerns.

turn off am draft, click disable creation of free agents, turn draft back on .... can only be done in offseason or preseason. not at my game, so can't check, but i believe it covers all levels, as when i checked it a frew "seasons" ago, i no longer get tons of 15-16 yrs olds in my ML free agent draft. it did take an extra season for it to start working perfectly.

Well, my helmet is pretty tight! Perhaps I misspoke. I'm darn sure someone misspoke!

I've worked for well over 12 hours today dealing with FHM release stuff and other things, so if I'm wrong, at least I have an excuse

I'll loosen the straps

Can you direct me to documentation of the bug, in a PT or wherever so I can educate myself? I try to read everything you post about the historical minors, so I guess I just missed it.
