Sharpe and the Mariners missed the wild card by half a game. It's pretty quiet in the northwest. We hardly make the news. Damn major market bias!

Yeah Sharpe has been quietly very good and is still not at his potential. I think he may start to dominate very soon. He keeps winning gold gloves though.

I think Snyder will get an MVP soon though. It funny all the hitters ended up in the NL and the pitchers in the AL....maybe if he was an AL player he wouldn't have to deal with Keeran and Staples...but that bandbox in Cincy is a good place to hit. | |

Seems like King is destined to be a back-up story in this. He just puts in solid seasons and rarely gets hurt. Lowest WAR of the hitters this season. Maybe we can see some more improvement next year. I'd really like to see some playoff games for King though

Good news is King is steadily improving and he just finished his age 26 season, so he is just now hitting his prime years of 28-32. I think he will come real close to HOF if he stays healthy. I wouldn't put 3000 hits out of the realm of possibility for him.

The mashers get the headlines. Long and King will steadily go about their business setting up the offense from the top of the order.

Yeah it was the same in the last prospect thread I ran. We had some mashers, but two of the guys were contact guys and one had 3600+ hits and averaged like .290 15/80 and was consistent 6 war for like 18 seasons I think...dude was a machine. The other guy had 4000+ hits, I think he broke the MLB record, not sure though. I will still be rooting for Long, King, and Powers to crack 3000 |

Me too! And yeah I really like the player he is. Just goes to work day in and day out. Not a big headline guy. Just hope he can keep it up and play until he is fifty!! Hahaha

Man the NL Central is brutal. 83 wins and all we can do is finish 4th. Would have loved to have a shot to replay that random 8-16 stretch. Kept us out of the playoffs and took a little luster off the monster year and MVP. Huge decision coming after this year for me. Do I go for the big bucks somewhere, do I head closer to home, or do I stay in Milwaukee and try to win a World Series where it all started? After this year though I think I made the right decision opting out of that deal. A repeat of that and I'm about to get paid lol. Never dreamed of being a .300 hitter, I would have just been happy with 30-40 bombs a year and enough walks to get the OBP over .400. Last edited by buckeye22; 10-18-2016 at 06:28 PM. |
