coach not handling roster selection

I am in GM-only mode yet before the first preseason game, it tells me that I don't have enough players dressed for a game. I thought the coach was supposed to handle this? I had to manually dress 20 players, which was a pain. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

you dress them, then coach decides lines...then if you are my game you promptly crash

I had to choose which players to dress in the first preseason game as well (PTG GM only mode in WHL). After that, the coach handled everything except if a player is injured, you need to manually scratch him.
