historical minor leagues - bugs
Not sure if any of these have been reported. I'm sure most of these revolve around the challenges of real minor league history that involves so many teams and leagues shutting down, rebooting, etc...
- For a league that goes dark for a season and comes back - for example, the Appalachian League in 1956 - if, say a few years after the dark year - you click on the league history there is a link for the dark year of 1956, with standings and stats that are all zero's. However, it shows the postseason results for some other year (sometimes it's the last active year, other times it's the current year).
- Sometimes when a league ceases operations, on the League History Index page the LgERA and LgAvg for the final year show as zeros, even though if you click on the link for that year, the stats are there. This is not always the case, though. In a test league that began in 1950 and is currently through 1957, examples of where this happened are Central League in 1951, the Southeastern League in 1950, Western Association 1954, Western Int'l Lg 1954... For some reason, this did not happen to the North Carolina State League in it's final season of 1952.
- Transaction logs apparently disappear immediately in the offseason for teams that shut down for the upcoming season.
- When advancing to the offseason, on the Playoff Coverage page, all minors boxscores disappear; and for any team that is no longer in the league for the upcoming season, stats disappear.
- In form of example: I started a historical sim w minors in 1918. Historical minors kicked in, of course, in 1919, with the Texas League. The Wichita Falls Spudders joined the Texas Lg in 1920. The league's historical standings for 1919 and beyond appear to be correct. However, as of spring 1922, in Wichita Fall's history the records for each year - 1919, 1920, and 1921 - all show as 0 wins and 0 losses. Then, as the 1922 playoff season closes, Wichita's history shows 0 wins & 0 losses for 1919 thru 1921, but shows it's correct record for the 1922 season. All seven other Texas Lg teams' histories show the correct W/L records for each year... However, as I then advance to Jan 1st 1923, Wichita Falls history then shows ONLY the (correct) 1922 W/L record; nothing for 1919-1921. And now Shreveport's record from 1919-22 shows 0 wins and 0 losses...
