editing csv files bug

If you edit the MiLBTeams.csv file - for example, to change or add a ballpark name, change an affiliate designation, or even add an entire minor league - OOTP will continue to read from the csv file for your year-to-year minor league setup. So in these examples, the ballpark name change, or affiliate designation change, or the addition of an entire minor league will be reflected in OOTP. This is good. However, apparently due to editing the file, some sort of connection "breaks" to where OOTP will no longer update the League Totals on the Stats & AI panel on a year-to-year basis. Meaning, if you just finished the 1926 season and you have edited your MiLBTeams.csv file, as you move into 1927, the League Totals will remain as the 1926 totals (although Totals From Year indicator may update). And this is true for ALL of your minor leagues, even the ones where you haven't edited anything. In addition, the BABIP will be .000 for any new leagues you add (even if you have entered numbers in the appropriate csv & txt files).

So it would be great if this bug were fixed because the flexibility to be able to make minor changes - or even huge ones where you add in entire leagues - would be very nice to have, especially as we look to make historical minors better in v18.

I bet this one was inadvertently included on accident and since the rest are not if edited it can't work. Which is what you notice. There are at least 3 and maybe 6 or 8 files that may all need to be edited in concert for the basics to work. Those files are proprietary in nature and nurture and can only be changed if your computer types things using cuttlefish ink due to its magical healing propensities.

While that may be true, by editing the two or three files that I'm aware of (MiLBTeams.csv, MiLBLeagues.csv, and era_stats_minors.txt), we can get really close to being able to customize our own minors. In fact, if you are willing to manually-annually update the league stats to overcome the glitch I described, you can do it now. So I'm just suggesting a tweak to make it tweakable. That said, maybe that tweak can't be implemented this go-around...

Only the Markus knows what his intentions are in releasing these files. Maybe he will remarkus on this at some future point on the timeline?
