The Worlds Largest Baseball League

I think this is truly the world's largest baseball league, I challenge somebody to find a bigger one.

There will be 64 divisions, with 20 teams per division, for a total of 1,280 teams total. Each division will be the top 20 cities in each country of the top 64 nations in the world by GDP. Then each division winner will participate in a 64 team knockout playoff, with all rounds being best of 7. The playoffs will take quite a long time, so it will be an 81 game regular season, not a 162 game regular season. It's taking several days to enter all the team names into the game, so I will keep you updated once it starts.

Apparently the client can't handle that many teams and keeps on crashing durng league setup. I wonder how many teams I have to get it down to for the league to work...

I think the limit is 50 divisions. You might try two subleagues, each with 32 divisions.

Could it be your PC? I've been wanting to do something similar to this but I don't have the PC for it yet.

Okay, so I was finally able to set up a league with 32 divisions, 10 teams per division, still a pretty large league with 320 teams.

I am accepting a position as a rookie league manager with the Centralia Seafarers which happens to be the town that I grew up in.

There will be 5 rounds of playoffs with 32 teams, each round being a best of 7, and since it is 32 divisions instead of 64, we are doing a full 162 game schedule.

Wrong. {Insert debate meme here}The max amount of games played would be 81 + 49 = 130, less than an MLB regular season.

Version 2 is probably bigger schedule wise than a regular MLB schedule.

Meet The Team

Seaside Surf(Seaside, Oregon) Rookie League Affiliate of Atlanta Thorns

Seaside, Oregon, is a beach town of about 6500 that is popular with tourists. The Seaside Signal is a weekly newspaper and the city hosts 1 AM radio station and 3 FM radio stations. Mark Weibe, a golfer who finished 12th in the 1989 PGA Championship, is from Seaside.

Catcher
Scott Norman - 22 Years Old - 52nd Round - Born in Canada, Norman is a right handed batter and a poker fanatic in his spare time. He has some home run power and gap power, but not much contact. He is an average defender.

1st Baseman
Bill Walker - 20 years old - 110th round - He has some decent power and defence, but is not well liked by his teammates. Low potential, he is not expected to get above rookie level. A switch hitter out of Nevada.

2nd Baseman
Justin Croucher - 17 years old - 87th round - Born in Trinidad and Tabago. Low work ethic, but some good physical tools, he has some good defensive and speed potential, and can hit it into the gap every now and then. Bats right.

3rd Baseman -
Wilfred Clark - 18 years old - 60th round - No real physical assets to speak of, and he is injury prone, but he does give 100% in the field every day. Bats right and hails from Los Angeles.

Shortstop -
Eddie Harris - 18 years old - 78th round - Good defense, but not much offense. He's the first one to the park each day and the last one to leave. Born in Massachussets and bats right.

Note to self: This is starting to feel like The Bad News Bears...

Outfield
Left Field
Jean-Marc Vidal - 18 Years Old - 85th round - Born in Haiti, Jean-Marc is a fan of baseball memoribillia. He has some punch in the bat and decent speed, and bats left.

Center Field
Clyde Daniel - 18 years old - 98th round - Born in Alburquerque, NM and batting right, Daniel has speed and can bunt, but can't hit or field.

Right Field
Steve Johnston - 17 years old - 77th round - Has some home run power, speed, and can lay down a bunt every now and then. Poor work ethic.

Starting Rotation
SP Sergio Nava 19 years old - LHP - 134th round - A diamond in the rough out of Mexico, has some decent overall stuff. He's a good guy in the clubhouse and rarely makes waves.

SP George Murray - LHP 18 years old - 140th round - Lacks control, but he has a good slider and changeup. Believes in superstitions and as a result often comes to the clubhouse in smelly socks and underwear.

SP Jorge Hernandez RHP - 20 years old - 126th round - A 3 pitch pitcher out of Nicuaragua who needs to work on his control as well. Working on a novel about baseball players.

SP Rob Graham RHP - 24 years old - 138th round - Born in California, a 4 pitch pitcher with good defense, but he doesn't like to sweat.

SP Pete Trent RHP - 19 years old - 142nd round - Out of Colorado, uncle was killed in the Columbine High School massacre. Has a nice cutter.

CL Tony Cook RHP - 20 years old - 116th round - Excellent stuff with some closer potential.

It takes about 15-20 minutes to simulate one day due to the size of the league.

Just set the game to 'real time', throw the pc in a closet, wait about thirty years and then get back to us with results

Wait... Are you using minors as well? I wouldn't use minors at all.

Yes, I'm using minors. I want to start in the minors and work my way up. And if I do poorly, I get sent down. Makes for a more fun experience in my opinion. Also this way you see players working their way up as in real life.

Currently it is May 11th and I am simulating up until June 6th, opening day, so it will be an hour or two before I can play any games.

I am buying OOTP18 so I think I may redo this in that game instead without minors.
