DH = Rest Credit? and DTD on DL?
When a player DH's, does his "rest status" receive a positive "credit", as is generally presumed IRL?
I doubt that real data exists to confirm if a day DH'ing actually provides "rest", but teams certainly work under this assumption. Many will use a full-timer as a DH occasionally under this premise. So, does anyone know if this is reflected in OOTP? My experience is that it does not. Anyone? Also, while we're at this, shouldn't a player with a "DTD" injury who is placed on a DL be subject to a potential decrease in the injury duration? The idea being that while on the DL, the player would be focusing on healing/re-habbing. I wouldn't think that this would always apply, but it should at least be a part of the equation, IMO. Thanks in advance for any input. |

I think a player who DH's has his rest status remain stagnant or at least that's what I have experienced

yup and i think it already does..
it's got to do it in steps with the end result after the amount of days given being the worst case scenario of rehab and whatever else is involved. being on the DL may in fact affect that. pretty sure playing through that stuff has an elevated chance of making it worse or new injuries? it wouldn't be wise to just trust observations with the eye, htough... but it would make sense if the numbers played out that way, eh? whether it's an exclusive force that's accounted for or merely part of some uniform % that's influenced by various things, i think what you are speaking of is in the game, if not exactly as you said it. The Giants claim Buster Posey "rests" by playing 1B.
In OOTP, even pinchhitting ruins the off day for a player. |

I have learned you can have your 1B 3B DH can be in every game if they don't get injured
I have one player who plays 1B and hasn't taken a game off in 10 seasons |

mispoke earlier.. .not a credit, but remains the same fatigue if DH.
after an initial 2017 season, if real, i'd invest time into a custom schedule with a better distribution of days off, unless you want to keep that part of the game from real life. maybe one exists already, too. C still can't do "too" many even with 6on 1off uniform schedule. |
