If you want a photo that simply shows Shearer in a professional uniform, I've posted it on the OOTP minor league thread where it belongs. It's a newspaper photo which only shows the back of his head in game action while he's at bat, but it was the only one of him I could find.

Later a manager for the Louisville Colonels, Kelly had a brief shot at the Major Leagues in 1879 for Syracuse. He is pictured in their team photo from that same year.

I have tried several times today to access the Auction Helper images index using the usual link. Every time I try it I get a 403 message, "you do not have permission to," etc. This happens with both Mozilla/Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Is anybody else having the same problem?

Hmmm, I thought the board had a subscription or account with that site. Or maybe one of the board members did. Perhaps it has expired, though I hope not. I am praying it is only a technical problem, but like you I fear the worst.

Same here. Looks like the whole site is down

This is interesting.

This website I frequent reported on Herm Starrette's death. I commented and linked his TV pic kf829 on my post (cannot upload pics on that site, they must be linked). The link to his pic is still there and the url is intact. I note that when you remove "kf829" from the link, the forbidden message shows up.

I decided to try something with the KH folder. The last image was Les Cain at kh140. I changed the link from http://images.auctionhelper.com/imag...6/KF/kf829.jpg (Starrette) to http://images.auctionhelper.com/imag...6/KH/kh141.jpg Got this message:

"Not Found

The requested URL /images/13076/KH/kh141.jpg was not found on this server."

The site is up hosting the older files but only if you have the exact image url.

True. But does anyone have any idea just what is going on or what (if anything) can be done about it? How did we get access to those images in the first place, did AuctionHelper just give that to anybody or did someone here sign up with them for it?
